Sorry if this has been discussed already.

When I stop my CTR I sometimes hear this loud metallic sound. When I first heard it I thought I had driven over a loose, heavy steel plate as I was coming to the stop. There was nothing there and I’ve heard it in several different locations. Of course, it’s intermittent and I will have to record the sound for the dealer, but lazy me thought I’d check in with you guys to see if this sounds like a familiar problem.

EDIT: The sound comes from the front of the car.

I’d be grateful for any insight.

Cheers!

Rock hung between brake and heat shield? Lots of threads on that.

Thank you. I had thought of that but the sound only lasts a short while, just as if I was driving over a heavy, loose steel plate. But I was driving in an area that had gravel for snow, so your suggestion sounds like it. Thanks again!

No problem. Was first thing that pooped in my mind because I’ve read about it so many times.

So where are you in Virginia?

No. I’m south of Richmond. Probably two hours. Just hoping you were a little more local. Always looking for locals.

Well I actually work in Hampton, VA and would be happy to drive up to Richmond.

The brain fart was definitely mine. I’m a moron! Sorry for the unnecessary thread, guys.
Nah dude, it’s better to ask the question if you are worried about it. I’ve done that a lot here. This is a friendly community, we don’t bite. :) Just look at how many “am I shifting right???” threads I made in the past year. :D

There is a coffee and cars show March 9. You should come!
Thanks for letting me know! Unfortunately, I’m heading out of town on March 9. Would appreciate it if you can let me know about other meets. Thanks again!

Sure thing. I think they do it every other Saturday. Calendar is here: http://carsandcoffeerichmond.com/Calendar.aspx
Three of us from the forums went early February (holy crap was it cold!), and man there were a lot of cars there. One of the other forum members has been recruiting locally, so we're hoping to have a whole line up of CTR's there!
