I was wondering what tires would be best and will it rub?
Looking to get 18x8.5 38 for a 2016 touring
Summer tires 225/40r/18
Will this setup rub? And I’m on stock suspension.
Don’t really understand the “numbers”
Appreciate any feedback

You will be perfectly safe on stock suspension along with the wheel and tyre spec.

With that wheel and tyre spec., you can even afford to lower 1” (on Pro kit) and look just flush. But if your ride always on full load, then keep as stock suspension.

thanks :D
And btw what’s the difference between
225/40r/18 and 235/40/18?
Was looking through other threads and the 235 seems more popular?

Go with 235. Not only is it wider, it is a better fit on the 8.5" wheel you want and will keep your speedometer accurate.

Oh ok, but would the 235 cause it to rub? Or would I still be fine?

‘Wider’ gives more road contact and enhance braking distance. Aesthetically, look more ‘meaty’.

235/40 will still very safe on stock suspension along with your wheel spec.

You will not regret with 235.
