With older cars, it used to be beneficial to run them in long trips. This was true for my 1999 Prelude. The car ran great when I started to travel between Montreal and Toronto (500km one way).

Is this still true for modern cars like our SI?

I took a round trip of over 500 miles on my 2nd day of ownership of my Si. Did just fine.

When I had my Prelude, I found the car drove better after I started the frequent long trip. Something to do with

I know. I use a touch screen and sometimes I type without seeing the cursor.
Too bad there is no way to edit the title.

Non a SI, but my 16 EXL Coupe just loved a trip from Central Pennsylvania to upstate Ny, 380 miles mostly interstate, 67-68 mph with cruise & climate control on, usually ran 48-52 mpg. It will be interesting to see how my new 19 Touring does after it breaks in. It's got bigger "feet" so a bit more drag.

I did some readings myself. The old saying that long trips to clean up the systems does not apply to modern vehicles.

I will consider renting a car to avoid the additional wear and tear. In fact, the drive would not be fun, I would just set the cruise control to 120 KMH for 5 hours.
