I started a similar thread when we purchased our CR-V earlier this year and it was very helpful for potential buyers.

Let's start tracking what CivicX forum members are paying (or have paid) for their new Civic Type R. This way there is no question as to what the true selling prices are.

Please post the following info:

Purchase Date:
Color:
Actual Purchase Price (including dealer markup, not including accessories):
Trade-in (Y/N):
Out of state purchase (Y/N): If yes, please post any shipping costs.
Dealer Doc Fees:
Cost of accessories:
Total Purchase Price:
Location (State):
Dealer Name:

I will create a Google Sheets file that everyone can access and see all the numbers. By having all the numbers, buyers will have some additional bargaining power and confidence when making their purchase.

Here is the link to the spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CWGFlzBrwrnsD4_g4X_T5adCO2SLc9JE6WHXQ1YTcMw/edit?usp=sharing

So far we have three data points but I think this will be very useful as more data is gathered.

I've looked at the other spreadsheet that was created, however it does not have the detailed info about everyone's purchase. Please contribute to this thread, the more info we gather in one place, the more useful the list will become.

Also, please don't be shy about how much ADM you paid, I ask others to refrain from commenting on prices paid. Only if we get together and share information will it give buyers a bit more of an advantage, dealers can pull sales information, buyers should have the same access to actual sales numbers.

This way, if a dealer claims they got $10k-$20k over invoice for a particular CTR, maybe we can verify if what they are saying has any truth.

I do understand that it's a bit personal, however, if forum members could see how helpful it was for those shopping for a Type R, they'd be willing to share some basic information about their purchase. On the CR-V forum, we had a list of 150+ sales which ultimately helped many new buyers get a better deal on their purchase.

I guess I am helpful that people might want to pay-it-forward and share their experience.

I don't think how much you paid is THAT personal. I think it's more of how much crap people who paid ADM get from ppl waiting for MSRP so they don't want to post it.
Maybe. However, it seems that there should be many people willing to share some information. With some good data, everyone can get a better feel for actual sales prices.

Retail on the accessories was about $1,000, so technically, there was about a $750 dealer markup, but I just entered the info above as it appeared on my buyer's order.

Could we perhaps add a shipping price for those who bought from out of state?

I suggest doing a poll on how much ADM you paid $0, $3-5k, $6-10k, 11-15k, 16-20k

I think that will give us an idea what most people pay in this forum

That's not really the point. Dealers can markup in a lot of ways. ADM is merely an "additional" markup.

Having it all itemized helps us see which dealers have the worst doc fees or overcharge for accessories.
