Had a sidewall puncture yesterday. It was right at the edge of the tread and caused by a sharp piece of wood that they found inside the tire when they took it off. Can't repair it and can't just replace one tire unless it is the same obviously so a perfect excuse to replace the crappy factory tires. I was prepared to get the midrange ones but the guy actually talked me into the cheapest ones after I told him I wanted a quieter ride and a little more grip. Z rated all season tires with a 40,000 mile warranty (I've put 12000 miles on the car in 18 months) for a little over $400 installed. The guy was right and I am super impressed so far. Night and day as far as noise. Both my kids even noticed and I wouldn't expect them to ever notice something like that. It remains to be seen how they handle snow but the are m&s rated so I don't see how they could be any worse than the factory firestones. We have a CR-V if we have another bad winter if the Civic doesn't do well. I have a K-tuner stage 2 tune installed and it would easily break the factory tires loose. These new tires are much better in that area. I am honestly shocked and how good they seem to be. I haven't bought tires in like 10 years because I tend to get new cars often. I love this current Civic and have no plans to trade it in anytime soon but if I do I don't have a ton of money in new tires. The factory tires were pretty terrible in the rain too so I am hoping these are better in that situation too.
