My first mod.
I found these LED lights at Home Depot, Martha Stewart brand. These are a little bigger than the all white strings, 3 wires instead of 2 wires. 3 AA batteries. ChinaMart has the same lights, but not branded, so cheaper. Good luck finding multiple colors. I simply taped on with clear Scotch tape, starting in the middle. Zip-tied the battery box to the body.

This looks really festive and way to do your thing!
So how do you turn it on though? Since you said it runs on 3 AA batteries, do you have to pop the hood every time you want turn it on/off?

Hmm you could probably have it plugged into the fuse box so it would turn on with the DRLs.

There is no choice really. If it's turned ON, it has a timer to be 'on' for 6 hours of 24, so you have to put in the batteries around 5PM. Otherwise, yes open the hood. Would not know about wiring into the car's electrical.

Now take it to the next level;) ...
Dude, I gotta drive it.

Looks like a nice '65 Mustang. Here is my beater '69 Chevy, with same sort of lights in the back window.

A timer? That is genius! And LEDs are so energy efficient that a set of batteries would last you for a week easily. Ya this is actually way easier than going into the fuse box, especially since it is only for a month.
