Just upgrade to a 1.5 Si from a 1.5 Ex-t. Would I be able to use the Same Ktuner?

Ahhh shoot. I did not unlock it before selling. Is there a way to reformat? Or will my K tuner forever be linked to the spirit of my old Ex-t.

Before the trade in. The dealer did a recall on an a/c control unit and reflash the ECU to stock. I did not think to unlinking Ktuner at the time. Which I trade in the vehicle the day after.

From my understanding your SOL, it's dedicated to that ECU only until it's unlocked. Could be wrong tho. Maybe contact @KTuner

You should be able to open the KTuner Software on a laptop and unlock it from there.

He can only unlock it with the vehicle attached.

You can pay Ktuner an unlock fee which is several hundred dollars but much cheaper than a replacement Ktuner unit.

That kinda sucks. What do you do if your vehicle was in an accident and totaled, but were able to salvage your KTuner?

Beg for mercy, maybe include the Ktuner in your insurance claim. The team at Ktuner is far from unreasonable, but they have to walk a fine line to prevent abuse. It's a tough task I am sure.

Maybe see if you can get to the car you sold if Its still on the lot and explain to the dealer maybe? Other than that you'll just have to accept the unlock fee and move on.

The only thing is, does that open a can of worms with the dealer? In other words, they'll know the car you sold them was tuned. Could that create problems? Maybe the safest (although expensive) thing is to just pay Ktuner to unlock it?
