Hello, need some advices.
My car Civic Hatchback CVT 1.5T Non-Si 2017.
I’ve my mods :
- open filter K&N
- fullsystem exhaust replace (including down and front pipe), no resonator (free flow)
- RON 90

I founded some knocking retard (reach 18, knock Control increase Average : 0.72). But no knock count @rpm 1250-1500

Just little improvement after I set my own map : (before set, it was happen @rpm 1250-2250)
- ignition retard
- WOT AFR go to rich
- fuel cut delay up at gear 3,4 and 5
- MAF scaling calibration

Until I put the resonator back to my exhaust system (With little adjusting of my own map), I got High enough improvement (but still exist)
Knock retard : MAX 11 (only once), at thise RPM average knock 3 - 7.5
Knock kontrol average : 0.60

Any advice to eliminate this knocking ?

Use higher octane gas. I believe 90 RON is something like 86 octane US. You need something like 95 RON (91 US) or higher to keep Knock Control numbers down.

Use higher octane gas. I believe 90 RON is something like 86 octane US. You need something like 95 RON (91 US) or higher to keep Knock Control numbers down.
RON 90 same as Octane 90 “published” and already laboratory tested have 90-92 octane actually.

Thanks anyway, just finish record my datalog with my new Map (a bit change of my last map) :
1. Retarding ignition -0.2 just right inside RPM 1250-1500 and load 0.6-2.2
2. Fuel cut delay up to 42-44-45 for gear 3-4-5
3. Detail calibration MAF

Got so much improvement.
Knock Control average 0.57
STFT average 0.7%
Less Knock retard (never reach 10)

From almost 100,000 data and 58 minutes trip (35 km)

partial support ECU by KTuner (not support on the fly map, boost by gear, etc)

I’m applying Dual Starter 18 Psi/factory (template of dual starter 21 Psi/factory)
- improved 1 throtle responsive
- improved 1 turbo responsive
- improved 1 turbo target ramp
- factory ECO button
- factory turbo spool

I'm glad you were able to achieve results you are happy with!
and its going better and better, average retard decrease to 0.57.. but hope still, find better and best to control knocking. Because mine is unsupport for all feature (boost by gear, On the fly Map switching etc), especially ignition correction by IAT and many more. Hopefully, KTuner update soon for full support of my ECU 37820-5AG-P83.
And initial support for my friend’s vehicle 37820-5AG-U61. He really want to buy KTuner V1.2 once it support.

As a fellow Indonesian, I'd like to remind you that our lab refer to octane value using RON unit/standard, which is the same standard as Europe.

US octane standard is different measurement. US Octane rating uses the average of the RON and the MON figures, called the AKI (anti-knock index).

I read the article mentioning octane rating of Pertalite could reach up to RON 92 standard, which equals to 88 or 89 Octane in US standard.

I use RON 98 fuel and I calibrate my car with the same boost level as you but I don't need to adjust ignition timing as I have no issue with knock control and knock count.

Thanks for your informations. Now, I just find best setting for my car after fthe problems detected.
1. Catless : I tightening plug to 0.7 mm (0.75 before)
2. Hot air intake : I modified double heat shield for intake system

And just now, no need adjust any ignition even no need MAF calibrating..knock control run about 0.49-0.59 in fine drive and 0.55-0.65 in aggressive drive. It’s now just; Click new tune, select and upload .. thanks @arnoldo
