Knock count and knock control is gonna drive you nuts. Anything over .80 is not good but no one knows why our egines are so sensitive and why our knock control goes so high. So I’ve been told.

My knock count has been between 1-5 after WOT.

As mentioned in multiple threads just like this one, knock count is not what to watch on this platform. Knock control is.

Ktuner is 100% correct. K control is what you want to look at. I run Flashpro and with 93 octane I'm consistently at 54 which is considered pretty good.

Here’s what Vit officially said, “The Knock Count value on this ECU is worthless. It doesn't track actual knock -- I've induced audible knock on our test vehicle and knock count stayed at 0. Yet at other times it would go up while shifting the vehicle. Pay attention to Knock Control, it is the more important value. And what this value does will depend highly on what the tune is setup to do. For a stock style tune that is designed to run on 87 octane and premium (91+) you'll see around 1.0 on 87 octane and closer to .5-.6 as you get up to 93-94 octane (not all premium fuel is the same).

On something like our Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunes we've designed them to run on 91-93 octane, so on 91 octane expect to see closer to .9 and as you get to better premium grade fuel you'll see closer to .5 - .6.”

My knock control has been rock steady at 0.49 since flashing the stage 2 tune... 91 octane from Esso (Mobil). Mostly highway. I guess that's really good then?

Normally right after any flash, my K Control is at .59. After some drive time it goes to .49 and steadies there and doesn’t go up any higher. It does go lower than .49 which is a good thing on occasion or on throttle.

Best fuel here in Guam through testing is 76 91 octane. 91 is the highest we can get here on Guam but like others have said. Not all fuel are the same from different stations.

Has anyone ever explained WHERE the k.con number comes from? As a technical person, I find knowing where data is coming from helps me understand the data better.

i see that this was a while ago. but... i am currently on flashpro running either plus 9 or plus 6 maps. knock count for 3 seems to always be high. i typically see something like k1=3, k2=0. k3=59, k4=0. knock control averages about 99.5%. is anyone having similar issues with count/control?

I recommend having your car's injectors inspected.
