Hi guys! Jonny here
Some of you guys may know my car from being the Top1motors FK8 Type R. But now I am transitioning onto my next phase of this build. In this thread all the parts installed, track days I will attend, shows, etc. Many companies have helped my Civic Type R get to where it is today.

Make sure to check in on my instagram below! Stories, videos and other steps of the way will be there. I will try to include as many pictures as possible for all my post here.

Stay tuned everyone as I am getting ready for this years SEMA 2019 in Las Vegas!

Hybrid Racing Short Shifter
Let's start this of with a really anticipated shifter release!

The Hybrid Racing short shifter has become a huge part of the Honda world as we all may know. Those in the 10th Gen Civic generation of owners have been waiting for this. Some went a different route with Acuity Instruments Short Shifter. I waited patiently for Hybrid’s release. Here it is:

I also paired my Hybrid Racing Short Shifter with the Maxim Titanium Shift Knob! I believe it's weight makes the feel of shifting much more amazing!

Time to execute: ~1hr

Keep an eye out:
  • Be very careful with the center console on not forcing it out
  • There are many small screws!
2 Levels of precision (#2 for more shifter throws) - which is what I went for!

I'm loving the short shifter way more than the OEM feel. OEM shifter when taken out seems so cheap! If you guys have any questions of any sort, feel free to comment or DM! I'll be more than glad to answer.

Stay tuned for the next post!

Just installed this bad boy yesterday night! Love the way it came out and gives my Type R a new look from the rear. Just a little preview, as I took these very quickly before getting to work! Loving the carbon center piece of the wing, gives it a much attracting look.

The revealing of my car will be coming soon! :confused1:

What do you guys think? Love to hear your thoughts.

R1Concepts Big Brake Kit
(Including the rear electronic brake)
I can't believe this is the World's First FK8 R1 Concept Big Brake Kit! I went with an Anodized Yellow color, very similar to the Hybrid Short Shifter color in my opinion. Stands out, giving it a different look to the red Brembo's. Very happy with the stopping power these provide now! Stay Tuned for more content as SEMA is approaching! :headbang:

SEIBON CARBON
HOOD / LIP / SPLITTER
Fitment: Not 100% perfect (for the lip)
Quality: Pretty nice for all ;)

Installation: Pretty hard to do by yourself. Seems straight forward but its very hard to fit properly. Especially because you're adding the bottom OEM plastic piece and then the lip, splitter. The fitment is as great as I have heard. Definitely leaves a gap from the bumper and lip.

All the of that needs to be fitted with the clips (doesn't work out). I used a
llen screws to tighten all the holes where usually there are clips. There is no possible way to force the clips through all the stuff it needs to hold. This was just my approach! If you have others, please comment.

Being on Eibach lowering springs myself, the Carbon Splitter does sit pretty low (gotta be careful literally for any little thing)! :banghead:

Hood looks very nice as well and fits on the spot!

New Coilovers!

ST XTA Coilovers
The adjustable damper technology of the ST XTA makes it possible to further increase the driving dynamics of the FK8 without compromising ride comfort.

Damper settings:
Controlling of handling and ride confort
16-way adjustable dampening
Rebound valves are opened via the damper setting
(the higher the ride comfort gets when driving slowly)

The ST XTA Coilovers suspension kit allow a continuously lowering on the Civic Type R. It also has a adjustable front camber plate, by changing the camber angle, the tires are given an optimum contact surface for maximum tire grip when cornering fast!

Lowering capabilities:
0.4" - 1.2" (full drop)

As many may have heard, my car was involved in a accident exiting SEMA, about a month ago or so now. I was rear ended by a lifted truck. Nothing happened to the truck at all. My Type R was damaged. Rear glass, wing, truck mainly.

Will be uploading pictures soon...

SEMA 2019
One of the biggest accomplishment achieved last year before this pandemic happened. For this build I had a small time frame to change the look of it.

As many may know I was the Top1Motors FK8 track vehicle. But after parting ways, I had a couple months to go a different route and this is what we did. All parts were installed at home, wrapped at home as well (1st time doing wrap). Installing all of this within the time frame we had was a big headache, with multiple trips from San Francisco to Los Angeles.
