Because Hondas look horrible, no need for them, ruins the look of the car
If you didn't have them, you would have one huge bumper - it would look terrible. They are there to break up the lines of the car.

They are too big & gaudy... They didn't have to make them so big.. They are out of proportion. Wrecks the front & back... Look at an Si... It looks terrible both front & back... Black useless spaces......

Only on the coupe. On the sedan, they are the same size as the hatch.

I think the way it is on the coupe looks fine too, but I think it looks good either way. I'm glad that they're not all the same. I think people are making way too big a deal about it. Plus, the rear end of the hatch is way bigger, so I'm not sure it would work anyway.

Some aftermarket should replicate something similar to this , I would be interested
The gloss black looks great! I've been hoping for an aftermarket replacement since the car came out.

The brake ducts up front look great.

Curious what size wheels they were able to throw in. i was beyond ecstatic to see the factory wheels replaced for something that seems to be more functional.

That one looks like a coupe.
JAS can get anything directly from the factory.

Yeah, you're right. It says Civic Si. But I'm sure they got something like that in a hatchback.

Plus it was built in Italy, so probably sourced from Honda UK or something. The HPD site is from American Honda Motor Co.

They are not using OEM brakes, so why does it matter?
The brake discs look like 380 mm in diameter, and the wheels are 18 or 19 inch.

I didnt know oem brakes werent being used. There's nothing on company's site that says so. It would be cool to see 18x10's used.

Does it really matter? Never claimed it was or wasnt. Im curious what their setup is and to know if there is any merit to using stock wheel sizes for a track.

Sometimes regulations depict the max rim size in this race class (TCR). Or fixed tire size + brand of the tire (from the tire sponsor).

The wheels they are using is prolly much lighter than stock wheels.

TCR-spec Honda Civic Type R.

Built by JAS Motorsport out of Italy, an initial run of 25 FK8 Type Rs will be produced for the world's TCR market (sadly, the closest one will likely get to New Zealand is Asia). The car was developed in Italy by JAS Motorsport — the go-to team when it comes to Honda Civic race cars in world motorsport. Their first customers will get their cars in December.

“As this is only a first run it’s too early to say much about the car, but initial impressions were that it feels well-balanced,” said the team's test driver and reigning TCR Italy champion Roberto Colciago, fresh from a shakedown at the Autodromo Tazio Nuvolari.

“The engine is responsive and the gearbox and other major areas like the aero package are improved over the old car, which was itself a multiple championship-winner. Anybody who races this car next year is going to have a very competitive package.”

It’s probably worth 3 times what a CTR costs, if I had to guess.

Good call, so pretty much too much lol... oh well one can always dream
