Issues with AA in Honda Civic after Oreo update (Pixel XL running Oreo 8.1)

Hey. Has anyone seen this, I've tried every trick / searched every forum and I'm still coming up blank. The issues / symptoms I'm seeing are:

• When phone only notifications (i.e. a calendar alert / etc) pops up on the phone it lowers volume for 3-5 seconds
  
  
• When receiving a phone call, the ringer no longer comes through the car speaker, it rings on the handset itself.
  
  
• Audio is quite often not coming through the designated AA speaker (front center)
  

Anyone else have this combo and having issues or a solution?
