Around 19-20mpg. 100% city driving, short trips, lots of stop and go. I usually drive pretty normally but being a new car I've been pretty playful with it and let the turbo boost me.

Try driving like an old lady for a day or two and see what MPG numbers you report afterwards.

I definitely notice a lower MPG when I drive to work. Its less than 10 miles from home to work, and I would guesstimate my average MPG for that drive back and forth during the day to be around 27ish mpg.
But with longer trips I notice my MPG average climb back up to a consistent 40mpg.

If you're doing pure stop-and-go with only short trips, you're not gonna see anywhere near EPA estimates. IMO I think the 31 city is overblown anyway (at least for "true" city driving).

It'll be interesting to see what happens to the MPG estimates in 2017. I would not be surprised if the city figure is revised downward.

I recently got a 16 civic ex 2.0. I'm not even getting close to 31 mpg city, im stuck in the teens feels like im driving a big v8 and is eating up gas, is that normal?
Should i bring it back to the dealer and tell them about this problem?

30mpg should be pretty easy to attain, even around town. I actually have gotten higher averages (42mpg @ avg 35mph) in around town driving than on the highway (39-40@70mph)

I have a 2016 EX-T and with pure city driving I usually get around 21 mpg. If I take it on the back roads without many stops or turns, I can easily get well over 40. My highest for interstate driving was 71.8 MPG.

My dealer said it will get better with the first Oil change. I also ave similar Mileage when city driving and I should also mention that I live in a hilly city.

I got the same crap gas mileage when I lived in LA, 18-22 for 2 years. Then moved to Iowa and get 28-38. City Traffic, Gas Blend, Sea Level is what I chock it up to.

Do you think I should take it to a honda dealership and tell them about this?
It's likely mainly due to the city traffic conditions and your driving style, there isn't much that your dealer will be able to do.

Go to your favorite gas station, pull the funel out of the trunk and fill it to the top..drive +300mi. then go back to the same gas dock and do it again then do your own equation.
