The 2018 Civic Type R Prototype is making its world premiere at the Paris Auto Show! Here are the first images. It's really only a prototype in name only. This should basically be what the Type R will look like in production form.

What a friggin beast! I love it!
Really dig the grey brushed aluminum body... Doesn't look like paint at all. Very unique, cool look.
Awfully low, low profile tires. Gonna be a harsh ride but who cares- we finally get an R!!!!

the gigantic vents from the hatch still present on the type r yet with the body and the lines, it looks 100x better than the hatch. looks so aggressive and awesome

Looks like they kept the rear wiper. I thought they would remove it for weight savings like previous generation R vehicles.

I'm sure you can take it off and use the same rubber plug from your firewall to seal the hole like I did with my Integra.
