Is an aftermarket intercooler worthwhile as a longevity mod vs just performance? I run a base +9 tune on my Hatchback. Just for more fun daily driving, I don’t race it. Figured an upgraded intercooler would help decrease the temp from running a higher boost, ultimately helping reliability on the engine. I’ve read cooler air will help prevent detonation and knock, as well as provide denser air with oxygen for minor performance gains without custom tunes.

A intercooler upgrade will be good, depends on the size of it though. I’m looking to get Prl’s or Mishimoto’s, just haven’t decided.

I’ve preordered PRLs intercooler personally, while it’s still on sale. Wish Mishimoto had a price estimate out by now.
