Has anyone tried to install the center dash speaker on the LX model? I wanted to buy the plastic panel but I do not know what parts are needed for it to look like the touring model.

Thanks!

Do you just want the grill or a speaker under the grill that actually plays ?

I wanted to add an upgraded speaker there along with the grill. Do you know how the center dash speaker mounted?

Does your system have a speaker there now ?

As for how, try googling it .. or googling how to remove the dash, it might be included.

My civic only has 4 speakers (two front and two rear ones) and I upgraded the center display to an android unit. It doesn't look like there is wiring there for another speaker. Was thinking of installing an amp and route it to the center speaker. I was hoping for it to be as easy as the tweeters upgrade.

The center dash speaker is mounted on the grill. The hardest part is to cut the opening in the exact shape in the exact location of the Touring model. The grill has these tabs to hold it in place. I'd replaced the 3.5" with a 4"x6" and just let it sit in the opening not mounted.

If it didn't come with one, then the wiring harness will different. I doubt it has any wiring for it.

I would think it would rattle if you just rest it in there.

Found this instrument panel for $144 online which isn't too bad. Does this look like the right part?

I'm trying to see if I can route the amplifier wires behind the head unit or under the dash from the driver side. It will have to be put on hold for now since Im focused on other mods at the moment. Plus it looks like the dash panel is a pain to take out according to this video :(

As Deepak mentioned how will you run the wires? I think you would need a DSP or something for the center channel. I am also looking for stereo upgrade for my LX HB and looking for ideas.

An improperly implemented center channel will not add to volume, sound quality or bass. Kinda pointless really.

You're probably right. Sounds like too much of a hassle just for a center channel speaker :/. I was just going to tap into the front two speakers RCA for pre-amp (i got a headunit that outputs RCA for all the speakers). Not sure if I want to get a DSP
