- 2019 Honda Civic Hatchback EX
I updated several headunits in other cars, not quite as extensive maybe, but it may be much the same. Never had a problem. I also did the uConnect in our Town & Country without problems. Just picked up this 2018 Hatchback, see it is Ver.1.F194.82 which seems a few behind. If I could get the image, I'd try to flash it myself, but I'll go to the dealership and ask. I suppose they are reluctant becuase if it fails and somehow bricks it they have to get/install the replacement unit. But being a computer guy, if done with the right precautions, bricking is a very rare occurance, especially on a system that is as closed as Honda's, not much chance of a rogue customization throwing the process out of whack. Anyway, this is my fourth honda civic, consecutive with sedan/hatch/sedan/hatch since about 1988... Loving it.My Ford experience was a '13 Escape with early SYNC and MyFordTouch... which never worked as advertised from the day we bought it 'til the day we dumped it two years in. Every.Single.Time they did something to 'fix' it, something else either turned quirky or quit working altogether. I suspect we had a 'lemon' because a few hundred thousand other folks are getting along quite nicely... but I'm not over it yet.
