    I'm just curious why you wouldn't want your phone chraging while using Android Auto?

    Charing your phone while using it shortens the life of your battery

    Absolutely untrue. In fact, charging your phone while using it increases the life of the battery because it reduces the number of charge/discharge cycles.

    I can think of another — the phone gets pretty hot when charging + using Android Auto in the summer.

    Wait, what? How'd you do that? I'd LOVE to get rid of those slow-ass animations.

    SAME HERE! I never need animations in my phone, or my car. If there's a way to disable them, please share!

    @BarracksSi
    @OctoberNotice

    Just found this post, for how to unlock Developer Mode:

    Also, since the below post doesn't say how to get there, it's Home>Settings>System>Detail Information>About Device

    https://www.civicx.com/threads/cant-enter-developer-mode-2018-civic-si.20248/page-2#post-446125

    But if you keep reading, one guy says it didn't make a noticeable difference in animation speed, unfortunately. I may still give it a try, when I have time. I always unlock Developer Mode on my phones and change the animations to .5 to speed them up. I was hoping it would work the same with the head unit.

    Edit: Just tried it. Turned all 3 animation options to "Off". I don't notice a huge difference. Seems a little bit snappier. Could just be placebo effect, though. Lol.

    I put my 2020 hatch in developer mode just after reading these and it's the same. Maybe a little quicker feeling, but still lags in spots.

    I'm not on the screen all the time, but it'd be nice if it were wayy more responsive. I'm also snooping around for a cool live wallpaper to use, but anytime I'm driving it's the android auto spotify page, the Bluetooth podcast page, or the radio on there anyway.

    Maybe I glossed over something, but I'd there a quick button to tap to just have it show the clock with a nice background?

    I'm not sure. My screen is always either on Audio or Phone. I've had the car since December and haven't even really dived deep into the settings and options yet. I need to do that.
