ideal ECT temps

I've heard that some people are getting higher than normal ECT temps after some light spirited driving, and i was wondering what some of you guys are seeing on average. Im usually between 179-183 on the highway, and if im driving it harder sometimes around 188. Anyone know what the Honda recommended running temps are?

You're right in the recommended temp. My car will run 179 if it's -20 out or 90. Our factory cooling system is pretty good.

just pretty good? this is, by far, the coolest engine i've ever owned. runs very cool.

same! 180 tops. in the winter time it can idle all day and wont have the heat to melt the snow off the windows. below 32 degrees ambient it wont go over 145. kinda annoying actually as i was looking for a more all season rig

Of course idling being the slowest way there is to get an engine to (and by extension the defroster) heat up aside...
