That's a machined finish, so there is no real "paint" that will match it. They have some at autozone/amazon that say "machine finish", but my opinion is that they are not very good. They do make a quick steel, as I used that is is supposed to be a metal finish. It would probably get your closer matching. Unfortunately, you won't be able to get those machined micro grooves.
Yeah no paint will fix that I am afraid. They are diamond cut like I had on my mk6 golf GTi. Some shops will repair them but not all as it's a specialist job
Did the same to my Fiesta's Motegi rims (black ones with the red strip). I was surprised that Berlina Black paint that I got for CTR's rims matched indistinguishably Motegi rims.
Questions for the OP: 1. Did you deflate the tires to do the work? 2. Do you believe that removing the tire would be a help? 3. If one took enough time & care could you make the rim edge as good as new?
I have all (Wisconsin) winter to work on a couple of rashed rims, so would like to do best job possible. But also don’t want to overdo it if making like new isn’t possible.
One of my wheels was badly scratched. The repair job came up pretty good for a novice. Looks fine especially after the wheel is covered in brake dust. If I had a tool to sand along the red groove (green arrow in photo), I reckon it would have come up 99%. Good luck
I removed all wheels but didn't deflate.
EDIT: photo attached
I repaired the majority of the rim that's shown.
In several parts I repaired both inner & outer parts of the groove.
