Hey guys, I need advise. I accidentally drove over the curb, Left (driver) side only. it made a loud scraping sound. I took a look at it, the plastic is damaged. I have some pics, this is the front left side from the drivers perspective. I dont know what part is it, how critical is it and what should I do?

How important is this plastic shield? Do I need to replace it asap?

It's not something u need to replace immediately, it just protects debris from flying up into the engine bay. If anything u should just drill a couple holes in it big enough for zip ties and zip tie it so it doesn't rattle or drag on the road. But like I said consider having the alignment checked. I've worked on cars for a long time and sometimes taping a curb is enough to throw the alignment off and cause tire wear

Absolutely. Thank you for your advise.

Do you know what is behind that shield, is it the oil pan?

Oil pan is under the large metal shield ( rear/ center ) wich is in good shape. No worry .

The plastic part you break is not very usefull , no rush to replace . IMO
If it was my car I 'll fix it with a metal piece and pop rivets.

There was a guy selling this under shield for like $40 on Facebook Civic X group IIRC, brand new. Not sure what the cost normally is at the dealer.

Be careful. My wife drove our 9th gen Civic over a curb and got hung up. Needed a new front bumper and a bunch of front axle work.

I can tell you that it’s very expensive. I ran over the cub just a bit and bent the shield under the oil pan. You can’t just buy the one under the oil pan but you have to buy the whole under body shield. That’s the only way Honda will sell it. Good luck
