How to turn off the car if the Accessory mode is turned on (in park)?

There are times when I stop and turn off the car with my foot on the break, but I accidentally forget to put the car into Park.

The car then will go into accessory mode. That's fine. I can put the car to Park after, no problem.

The question is, if I am in accessory mode, how to I turn off the car? Is there a way to do it?

Pressing the start button twice without my foot on the break doesn't seem to work.

I have to press my break pedal down to RESTART the CAR and then immediately press it again to turn it off.

Its a waste of gas and wear to turn the car on and off just to keep it off it seems.

Any suggestions?

Without pressing the brake, press the start button once then wait a sec for it to get to on mode (this turns on all electronics), then press again to turn off. It won't work if you just press twice in a row.
