Greetings all,

I have a friend who wants to get a new SI (as a lease) and he is having trouble finding one. Whether the year is 2019 or 2020, there seems to be no SI's currently for lease. His lease is up in a month and has been wanting the SI ever since he drove mine. His other option would be the base model GTI. The dealership I got my SI from had 2 last month but sold within 2 weeks. My question is how rare is the SI? As in do you see a lot of them where your at? Do you see them for sale? It seems like where I am at (Michigan) I never see fellow SI drivers...

Here in the Philadelphia area, I see them all the time. Nothing rare about them.

They are definitely more rare than the less sporty Civics, that's for sure. I only see one or two a week here in Maryland compared to hundreds of Civic LX's.

I see some sedans. I see less coupes. They're not rare.. But there's not a ton on the road either.

If your friend is willing to drive a little you could search down in Ohio for one. I spot a few driving around each month

It is “uncommon” and only because it is exclusively manual

Toronto is a hot spot for 10th Gens so for every 150-200 Civics, one is an Si, and same for a CTR

Went to the dealer for my "Free" oil change last week and the "Vehicle Exchange Specialist" contacted me to talk about the possibility of me leasing a different vehicle a few months early of my lease ending.
I told her I was interested in possibly finding a "2020 Si sedan in Red". She laughed and said "how about a Type R instead, we have more of those" - which is true but still over invoice and more than I want to spend. So they had NO Si's in stock but they did have a Black sedan coming in in a couple weeks - but I'm not ever buying a Black car again, so I said no thanks. Apparently dealer trades are near impossible because as soon as the get an Si they sell quickly. I asked if I could just order one from Honda in the color I wanted and she said each state has a certain allotment of Si's as Honda is not making a lot of them - so basically no...I find that hard to believe, but I am still very disappointed. I may just end up keeping my EX-L...I have until October to decide.

I've seen quite a few in the sf bay area. In the city I can imagine less people would want a manual because of the hills. These cars aren't rare at all. I've seen 20s at a few dealers in the area too.

It might be more rare in Michigan where there are stronger ties to American car companies.

There's a couple here in San Jose/Santa Clara area. Older Si's are way more common than newer ones, especially at car meets. I usually see one 10th gen Si every 3-4 days.

Around my area they are relatively uncommon. Since I bought mine in November I've been intentionally on the look out for them and have only seen like 3 or 4 different ones in my area. I just checked Car Gurus for new 2019 and 2020 Si's within 500 miles from me and there is currently 304 listed. It says your from Michigan, where exactly I don't know, so I just used Lansing as a reference point and search within 500 miles of there on Car Gurus which resulted in 196 listings.
