I was curious if we would have a bell shaped curve for the response to this question.

What do you think the MSRP will be, to the nearest $1000?

Justify your answer if you like, but obviously not required.

I think 36k sounds about right including destination fees. Just have one of those feelings.

32k because...

CTR has less HP and is FWD compared to the Focus RS.
CTR will have comparable power compared to the STI but loses AWD.
CTR should slot below the RS and STI.
2017 Civic SI will probably be around 24k, about 3k less than the WRX.
8-9k above SI seems about right.
Focus ST to RS is a 11k jump but that adds AWD.

Focus RS is 36k
STI is 35k

$1 (assuming closest price without going over)

It's good to see we're not seeing absurd guesstimates like $45-50K anymore though.

I tried to get this info from the dealer but they didn't have any guess. I wanted to order one, but they take your deposit (non refundable) and they won't even guarantee that I could get it at msrp. So if they choose they will go ahead and mark up a car that is already spoken for and if I don't like that I would be out my deposit. Looks like I will either find a new dealer or wait until someone has one at msrp and I go pick it up.

Sounds like you need to find a new dealer!

I feel ~33k-~34k would be within reason for base. Dealer markup could easily push to 40k. For perspective, majority of the RSs near me are going for $45k-$50k, lowest being $38k, highest being $52k.

That RS markup is insane!
It doesn't help that they made what like 140 of them for MY2016 before they 'cancelled' the order and replaced it with the newer MY. Now if only the plant in Germany could get to work... German unions I guess causing the issues..?

Feel like it's poor planning/projecting on the part of Ford. They have said that they will make as many RS as the market demands.

Ford had to of underestimated the demand for the RS since the 3-week holiday plant shutdown was planned ahead of time. The smart thing would have been to build up a large back stock to account for the 3-week delay and delay the release of the car. Just spit balling but I'm guessing Ford figured with their current performance lineup (Mustangs and Fo/FiST) that consumers had more than enough to keep them occupied until supply of the RS could catch up.

I'm hoping that Honda does a better job of predicting the demand for the CTR; but based on the rumors saying a limited 2/dealer allocation...I'm thinking that'll certainly contribute to some insane ADMs. Certainly won't help if Honda goes with the 1.5T Si. Imagine the Focus lineup if your choices were the Fiesta ST or the Focus RS. o_O

Hopefully it costs $32K, I can pay it off in a year and save up for the Toyota Supra to add to the garage....

Elantra Sport.....?
Civic R.......?

The premium on the R will be something to see. Don't expect any deals.
the Golf R is really that much in the U.S?? damn. that's how much it costs here in Canada.

On the other hand, the Focus RS gets an MSRP of 48k. Horrible conversion as I've mentioned before

Hopefully CTR won't clear 40-42k CAD

33-34K base, 36-37K for the GT. The suspension, chassis, interior and drivetrain will add quite a bit to the price tag over the Si/Touring. But the absence of AWD and related support hardware should knock down the price tag a couple grand compared to the Golf R and Focus RS.

You think it will be presented in 2 trims? what will the options be if so. Personally I don't think they will add options for the CTR. Maybe the wing at best, but other than that it will just be one sku all around.
