I backed up into a metal post (going very slow, no accel). Could anyone give me an estimate how much it would take to just get the large dent out? I don't mind the cracks and tears for now, just want the shape to be good enough to pop back in the side of the bumper. Any recommendations on body shops near Boston welcome as well. Thank you.

You're not get the "dent" out. That's a bumper replacement right there. Could have been much worse.

That does not look like a dent to me tho. You will need a new bumper, man. Sorry.

It's cheap because the expensive part is a good looking paint job.

And having had a 16 in White Orchid Pearl, I know, it's a 4-level paint, so if you get someone competant you're good, one benefit, no masking, can be painted before installing, so no chance of overspray. Don't know what your deductible is, but the paint is expensive!

There's the obvious outercap. The concern is the additional small parts/pieces/clips/grille etc that can't be noticed till the car is apart.. then if DIYing, your time/tool/skill level etc. parts, labor and paint? $1,500?

Also cheap because the shipping and handling fee to Boston costs more than the bumper. $183.50. LOL

See if you can salvage the little plastic piece, it'll save you some bucks.

Shop around, since it's not a insurance job, most body shop will do it for under $500.

Check eBay they might have a white one from a salvage civic that's been wrecked in the front...white and modern steel are popular colors for this car
