Just so I don't have to create a new thread,
I recently got my car independently serviced and after resetting the oil-life monitor it's just reading "-----" KMs. I've driven 400km since.

I've tried holding down enter on the steering wheel to reset, and also resetting via the infotainment.

Any ideas how to get it to show 10,000 remaining?
I just noticed on the second link that I posted there are other YouTube links showing the reset process using the “Informaion Button”

Thanks for the suggestion precept. Unfortunately I think that only works for cars that don't have the digital display or something. I gave it a go anyway and no dice.

Edit: yeah, you'd use the info button to get to the oil life indicator, hold down enter and press reset. I press reset and it resets to "------"

Yeah, pretty much the same process I've tried to do.

My car doesn't come up with "all due items" though. There's just "reset" and "cancel"

Hi guys ,

New member here, Thought i will ask the question about the car. I just picked up my VTI-LX a week ago. After inspecting a vehicle closely . there'r few things annoying me :( . First off, the back seat from driver side has a big wider gap than other side . or it's for all the car ? https://imgur.com/a/wsEZT2d .
Also there'is some leather steering scratch. Or was i just unlucky ? i dont think dealer is going to fix that small scratching but the seating is really bothering me.
Thanks

I noticed a scratch on steering wheel upon delivery, and they replaced it.
I got my car checked at the dealership, noticed a similar scratch 2 days later, they probably won't replace it, but they've called head office to ask.
Not sure about the gap.

Thank you for your reply

4th May is coming

All the questions I have mentioned all stem from the lack of information specific to the LX in the Owners Manual.

When I say lack of information, I refer to the statement “Not Available On All Models” through out the Manual.
So, you are never sure which model they are referring to.

I wrongly thought that as the LX was the top of the range, it would be equipped with all the features.

Thanks again
Update Civic LX problems

Put the car in for it’s first service on the 4th May.
I gave them specific information regarding the two problems that had occurred from day one.
1. Walk Away Auto Locking
2. All doors and boot have three or four beeps when closed

Sit in the Service Deparment Lounge for 2 hours

Service Department informs me that the car is ready.

I questioned them regarding the two problems.
Their reply was your model does not have this option, only the CRV has it.

Now just hang on
The Salesman says it has it
The Australian Honda Civic LX Brochure says it has it
The Settings on the car say it is installed

I want to talk to the Service Manager, the Service Workshop Supervisor and the Salesman.

Five minutes later we are all standing next to my car and ask the Service Manager to now tell the Salesman that this car and model does not have this feature.
Again they say that only the CRV has this feature.
But the Salesman corrects them and shows them the Brochure

Blank looks

I then said why do these beeps happen when doors and boot are closed.
Workshop Supervisor says it looks like something appears to be registering that it is not closed.
I will take it back down to the workshop and check.
I said that this was reported on day one and this morning, and you still bring the car back to me with the same problems.

Blank Looks again

Two hours later they come back to me and inform me that they cannot find the problem and they will need the car for a full day.

Ok, I am going away so I will book it in for the 14th May

Car goes in on Monday 14th May
They give me a courtesy car for the day

They give me a telephone call at 4pm and inform me that they will need the car for another day(Tuesday)

Tuesday afternoon they tell me they cannot locate problem and the need the car for another day.

Wednesday afternoon, they still cannot find the problem and they are talking to Honda

Thursday they still cannot locate problem and still need the car

I arrange a meeting with the Service Manager on Friday morning
He admits that they do not know what or where the problem is and a Honda Specalist is coming out today.

Friday 4.30
Still no one knows how to fix the problem

Service Department are going to get an external Auto Electrician in on Monday to check

“My guess is that if Honda Service Technicians and a Honda Specialist does not know how to fix, then this guy is wasting time”

Anyway come close of business on Monday I will be arranging a meeting with Honda to replace the car.

Car has done 400km

Six days in the workshop and no end in sight.

The Honda new car experience has now turned to shit

Holy cow... What an insane run if back luck.

Lemon laws are in place for this kind of thing. Hey it's no failing engine but still irritating.

See if you can snag an upgrade out of it.... The black pack or something like that?

I suppose the fun with Honda Australia has just begun
I have read the consumer affairs process on “Major Problems” with cars

But I think the dealer has exhausted all options

All I want is my car back and fixed or replaced
My car LX has all the options

They reckon that Honda has never encountered this problem before

Well, I finally have my car back.

It only took 10 days to work out why the Walk Away Auto Locking and Continual Beeps when you closed doors was not working.

The first 5 days both the Honda Service Department and Honda could not locate the cause of the faults.
On the 6th day the service department bring in an outside Auto electrician. He indicates that the problem is in the rear of the car.

Service department start working on the rear end, but the only way they can isolate the fault is by taking parts from a NEW car that are known to work, and replace them onto my car.

Three day later they isolate the problem, the “Body Control Module”.

They then replace the Body Control Module.
But guess what, the new Body Control Module is FAULTY

They replace the module again, but this time they put one in that is not for the LX model

Finally on Friday evening they have the car working.

In between I contacted Honda Customer Service.
What an absolute terrible experience with them, no concern or empathy that a brand new car is delivered to a customer without being properly checked. Refused to allow me to speak to someone higher than the first point of call.

If Honda Australia think that a faulty car from day one is acceptable and then when the fault is reported twice and not fixed is good for their brand, they have a problem.

Then no one knows how to fix, and finally 10 days to rectify, what a joke.

What do you think of my Honda new car experience.

Honda don’t care

Unfortunately, your experience is more or less what I have noted from my dealings with a Honda dealer here in Sydney. They don't seem to be aware of existing and reportedly known issues with our cars. My complaints about the radio/rain-sensing wipers has been fixed just by resetting the car. I am pretty sure there should be a software update for the head unit but they don't seem to have heard of it. The grinding sound with the CVT on warm/hot start is well documented in U.S. cars (with even a Service Bulletin issued) but the guys here have not heard of the issue and claim there is no issue with my car when I can clearly and consistently hear the sound.

I have seen on the U.S. posts that the Body Control Module (BCM) has been the culprit with issues with the Walk-Away Lock. I suspect my BCM may also be wonky or there is possibly some sort of grounding issue with my LX since it sometimes beeps 3 times to indicate there is a problem and once I open and close any one of the car doors, it usually double beeps and will auto-lock. It's not been enough of an issue for me to take it up with the dealer since I neither have the time or energy to make them fix it.

I wonder if the situation is the same here in OZ as it is in the U.S. with the warranty work taking longer than what Honda OZ is offering as compensation to the dealers that they simply don't bother with anything unless they can make money off of it, i.e. do your regular servicing at massively inflated prices with no additional value provided. Happy to hear if anybody has had any positive experiences with a dealer or independent workshop. The only reason I am going back to Honda for servicing is in case there are updates etc. which an independent repairer would not have access to but so far, it seems there is no benefit in doing so.

Now you have your car back, does it have drive away auto locking? (15km/h+auto lock)
No Autolock on LX

I did write to Honda Australia to complain about all the problems I had from day one.

Some goose from customer relations called me back.
I say goose because all he kept repeating was “he will raise that with his manager” and Honda gives you a very generous warranty. But no real apology.
When I asked about the Roadside Assist paperwork. Umm I will have to resend it, but it may take a couple of weeks. He did not even give me a telephone number to call if the car happened to break down in the interim.

Customer relations score out of 10 = 0
