Honda 15400-PLM-A01 oil filter is narrower?

I changed the oil and filter for the first time and switched to the A01 filter. I noticed that it was narrower, which means there's shiny metal showing near the top near the thread area. Is this a non-issue or do I have to worry about corrosion? Any A01 users chime in?

They are still available for purchase and are superior to A02, but this is irrelevant to the inquiry at hand.

I noticed the same but havent seen any leak. im sure corrosion will be an issue over time but next oil change i will prob go with a different option.
