So, I ordered OEM black grille parts for my 2017 touring coupe. Basically, I'm leaving the matte black main grille and swapping out the chrome pieces (eyelids and center piece) for gloss black. My assumption was that all the grilles are interchangeable so I ordered parts from a 2019 touring (the new 2019 comes with a black grille). I jut saw a thread showing someone installing extensions that didn't fit. I thought they were all the same. Did I screw the pooch here??

Thanks. That's what worries me little, though. The fitment for the parts that I ordered show them as being for 2017-2018 Si and 2019 all models. I figured that's because the black grille was only offered on Si 2 and 4 doors until 2019 (seems like every non-Si got chrome).

Not sure if what you ordered is OEM, but long, long ago (last year) when the black grille wasn't standard, we were putting the OEM hatch grille on the coupe and sedan.https://www.civicx.com/threads/hatchback-grille-installed-into-2016-sedan-with-pics.8904/
I ordered mine from here....https://www.collegehillshonda.com/product/71121-TGG-KIT.html

Yeah, I'm not sure what's what. I ordered OEM but not the whole grille. Just the extensions and the center moulding. #'s 2, 3, 4 in the diagram. All for a 2019 touring coupe. Hopefully it's all the same stuff.

suggestion: take your sweet ass time putting it back together. make sure everything snaps together good. after replacing mine the bumper skin would continue to pop off in one place. was going to do a fix when i did a horn change, but it hondas problem now got a si instead of a horn up grade.

Yeah I intend on taking it super slowly. All of this because of a shattered fog light so I’m trying to get as much done in one shot as I can so I only have to take the front clip off once. I guess I’ll find out what fits soon enough

There's a gap between the bumper and grill...doesn't fit flush
Interesting. Mind if I ask what parts you used and what model you’ve got? A pic would be cool. I may have bitten off more than I had intended here

Looks really good for an overlay! If I didn’t have to yank the bumper to replace my fog light I’d totally consider it.
