Any specific brands of heat wrap for a DP/FP that you guys suggest? I was looking at Design Engineering in Black but I'm not sure if it will fade with heat of if that's a good brand. Any suggestions from those with real world experience are much appreciated!

Thanks!

I'm using that brand for the inlet pipe and charge pipe insulation material wrap, is pretty good.
I would recommended you.

for inlet pipe, shouldn't we use the one that is good at reflecting heat instead of keeping the heat in?

i m planniing to wrap my inlet pipe as well, and i see a lot of ppl using the "gold" shinny wrap, whats the brand n rating? i found this on amazon and wonder if it would work for the inlet pipe as a purpose to keep the heat out?

I’m using different wrap material insulation, this material prevents the heat go in .

Great looking cooling solution!

I’m having good results, specially on those slow motion traffic days, and when the traffic is open again the car respond !

i was planning on wrapping the inlet pipe as well. What other pipes do you recommend that i should wrap with reflective tape?

The 2 small coolant pipe behind the inlet pipe should be you next target. Basically, any coolant or air pipe around the Turbo area you can always wrap with heat tape to prevent overheating.

Uff that was long time ago.. now the best results I have got so far is cutting the inlet pipe and then joined by silicone hose , insulation the long part from the turbo housing .

Perhaps, that’s why @PRL Motorsports designed their inlet pipe that way.

This time they did it first , I “ borrowed “ the idea . I mean splitting the inlet pipe , the heat wrapped part I was doing it before they release the ceramic coated version .

Oh, I'm not calling you a copycat. I'm just pleased to see some on the ground data. I really do appreciate all the things you've tried and that you've shared your experience.

Here's a thermal image of the PRL inlet. By the looks of it, it reduces heat transfer from crossover pipe to the turbo. Is that what you are seeing as well?

I would like to see thermal images of a Rampage one.

Absolutely! I’m not being like defensive , just telling you what I’ve done so far. And yes ! I follow all your post too I really appreciate all your research also .
Regarding the inlet pipe yes , that’s what I currently see actually better results .

So maybe the PTP inlet pipe cover is not that far off after all...
Would love to have a thermal imager to find out for sure.
There is no doubt something is better to nothing with the inlet pipe crossing over directly above the furnace under the hood.

The idea is good , the problem is the oem inlet pipe is one piece and the turbo housing transfer all the heat to the inlet pipe , the result is a very hot inlet pipe ( internally) but cooler outside , I mean the temperature of the blanket probably lower than the inlet pipe itself which is not good at all.
