Changed mine the same time I did my first oil change, which was around 5k miles and change. Switched to Amsoil Syncromesh as well. Currently at about 17k and plan to change again at 20k.

I see.. I'm fortunate Htown, Texas dont get to cold and haven't been hitting it too hard. Lol but do notice it's not shifting as slick as it did.

only downside any fluid you use other then oem when its really cold outside like 20 or below the trans is very rough until it warms up because oem is super thin.

I was having the infamous 2nd gear grind, so bought Amsoil Synchromesh and took it in to my local Honda dealership to put it in for me just to see if this would help, and the service manager told me that I would void my warranty if I did it. He did change out the fluid with their official transmission fluid to see if that would help. 2nd gear grind happened on my way out of the parking lot.....

:( Sorry to learn that.

Since I haven't changed out the fluid, my experience with 2nd gear grind was mitigated by

1.) changing out the shift knob to a weighted shift knob - mostly eliminated grind
2.) upgrading to Acuity base bushings, centering spring, and rocker - eliminated gear grind and notchiness

Amsoil will just be icing on the cake for me a few months down the line. HTH.
