A one year service contract on a new car that comes with a three year warranty? I don't get it. Do you mean maintenance contract?
It is an "EasyCare prepaid scheduled maintenance contract."

They really should have left that off. I only cared about the bottom line. Now I get $150 back that I wasn't expecting.

One potentially shady thing is the $84 they charged me for the "EasyCare KeyCare" one year contract. In the membership certificate it lists the membership purchase price as "$0 (zero)," but on the purchase information document (the itemized list of charges and everything else) it lists KeyCare at $84. The contract says "as this certificate is being provided to you at no charge, this certificate is nonrefundable and has no cancellation fee." Looks like I'll get that money back as well.

Total OTD: $22k roughly.

Despite my love for manual transmissions, I (very) slightly have buyer's remorse for not getting an Insight or a Clarity since I've been driving LOADs of miles.

My target was 3% over invoice (base + destination) and that's what I got. I put a grand total of 10 minutes into negotiation, getting them down from an original price of $50 less than MSRP + destination charge.

I paid 22k USD out the door(Including tax, title and other misc bullcrap) for my 2018 Sport 6sp. I had to drive 3.5 hours but no manual cars were even close to my location, let alone in red.
I feel your pain. I used to stay in Blacksburg, but had to go to Northern Va to get a civic with MT back in 2003.

First time buyer. Went to 5 different dealers. Negotiation process took a day and a half. I was also offered 2018 for $22,800 OTD, but the interior color wasn't what I wanted. If you're in Alexandria, Sheehy Honda is the way to go.

+ Tax and Title. Initially negotiated for no accessories, they didn't have the color I wanted but really wanted to make the deal happen that night they picked one up from a dealer 20 minutes away. By the time it arrived I was in financing, the car came with all accessories so they just gave it to me :D

If I would of waited till Feb or got a 18' would of saved about $30 a month through incentives. Lease turn in would of needed new tires by Feb though.

Used Costco auto program to establish starting point for negotiations but ended up using a dealership that wasn't part of the Costco program.

Full disclosure, I had no idea what I was doing. First time buying a car. Spent all day at the dealership. Brain was fried by the time I got to talking with a leasing agent. Dreading going through that process again.

State: LA
Trim: 2018 Sport Touring
Tranny: CVT
Color: White
Options: Came with pinstripe and blacked out wheels with locks. Does that count?
Price: Negotiated down to $25k before all fees and whatnot. Don't remember what the original price was.
Destination: $995, was listed as "Accessories" on the price negotiation sheet. Very confusing.
Tax: $2,167
Put $4k down with a $500 trade in ('03 2D Civic LX w/ 163k mi) + a bunch of other fees and stuff that I have no idea what they are.

TOTAL: $31,715 before down payment and trade in, $27,215 after.

Yea you got head-cracked on those fees man. $31.7k OTD for 2018 Sport Touring is insanely high. I would say they signed you up for all the additional warranties, maintenance, car alarm, lojack and that other junk. I would check the contract terms to see what you paid for.

I'm not even entirely sure where I'd find that information. Looking at the buyers order/invoice, I do see Theft Deterrent: $150, Extended Service Contract: $2408 (Comprehensive 6 year, 100k mi), GAP: $595.

If you paid so little down, no way around the gap insurance. Is that strictly service contract or extended warranty? $2400 is a lot...

Picked up a 2018 Civic Hatchback Sport couple weeks ago. January is a good time to buy cars cause dealers trying to push out inventory to make way for the new year model.

State: CA
Trim : Sport CVT
Color: Black
OTD: $23K with $1700 down 2.9% interest 60months.
Monthly around $380.
