FWIW, it's also available for download and is on the CD included with the car. There have been several revisions already to the softcopy version.

Honda has not made paper service manuals available for quite some time now. They will rent you access to much better, more current, and more usable data online but for a steep charge. https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/logon.asp

When we purchasd our 2016 HRV we where surprised to learn that the Canadian vehicles came with a full manual but our U.S. friends had to order theirs. Well looks like we may have the same situation again as our 2016 Civic came equipped with a full print manual.

I actually appreciate that the manual is not pre-printed in the states. The PDF version is updated online (the paper version, obviously, won't update itself) and is free to download. PDF files are easy to search and this one is correctly created with hot links in the index. It's a "green thing" to do, that I figure other manufacturers will begin to do shortly, if they don't already. I also realize not everyone wants a computer version, and I appreciate that Honda will send one out for free if you request it in the first six months of ownership.

Speaking of which... I own apple labtop and I do not have a CD rom drive... any place for owners to view the CD online if they don't have a way to watch the CD

The canadian owner's manual was 470mb. You sure you got the full owner's MANUAL, and not the guide?
