GAS Civic Hatchback Spoiler

Hey guys I wanted to give an update on my install. I haven’t driven my car since the install, it’s been in the garage but I noticed that the tape was starting to detach itself on one of the corners from the spoiler. All of the other areas where I used the tape seemed ok.

Since I had plenty of the windo weld left I decided to use it along both corners of the spoiler before the other side gives way. I’m going to end up sealing the whole spoiler with the windo weld. This will also prevent water from getting in.

I recommend this method to anyone who has purchased the GAS spoiler.

You will need:
A few pairs of nitrile gloves
Masking tape
Goo gone
3m windo weld or (insert your choice of urethane) and caulking gun

First step is to mask the area try to get as close to the inside edges as possible.

Next use the 3m windo weld and gun and push a nice amount into the gap.

With the gloves on use the tip of your finger to smear the urethane into the gap, go over it a few times until it is smooth.

Carefully peel away the masking tape. If you happen to get some of the urethane on either spoiler or on a body panel use the goo gone and a microfiber cloth to wipe it off.

I hope this helps anyone who has the same issue I had with the tape. Let me know if you have any questions.

Side note: Whut do u guys think about the orange tail lights... i may go gray... kinda wanted a retro look but not sure if it looks weird...

I think gray may looks better.

The main reason I used the Windo Weld was to make it harder for someone to steal it.

Do not go with NK. I received one in the mail and it was damaged, and it had crazy gaps all around it. It was a terrible product that should have never been produced. I asked them for a refund and they gave me the run around for a few months. I got tired of it and filed a PayPal dispute. Ruled in my favor. I got my GAS one in yesterday and the quality is 1000x better. So the saying “you get what you pay for” applies with this.

Go with GAS, read through this posting there are several ppl who got NK and regretted it.

Someone convince me to save some money and pass on this. From what I’ve seen and read, it’s a great quality item and fits like a glove. Anyone go with just the double sided tape and it’s still holding on?

Same. I used the kind they supplied me with, but after 2 months or so it began to come loose. I check it periodically just because I’m paranoid. lol. So I removed it, and used wider 3m tape. That sucker isn’t going anywhere.
