Easy fix for a garage door opener. No wiring required. For my 2018 Honda Civic Sports Touring, I purchased a “60-HMLK5UTIV HomeLink Universal Garage Door Opener” on Amazon for $150. Using the manufactures instructions for the remote, I easily programmed the remote to my garage door opener first

. I have 3 button slots on my lower dash, and 2 of them were being used. I had an empty space on my lower dash, but I had to move two of the already installed buttons over to the right. This is because there is a metal piece behind the dash that wouldn’t let the remote sit flush. In the button slot on the left, I barely had to cut out a piece of plastic on the bottom lip get this remote to fit in. The remote slid right in, and it works great. It may stick out a little, but nobody can tell unless I show it to them. The remote also has a better range on it than the other cars I have.

I like it a lot.
Very nice stealth installation.
I’m too German to spend that much though.
I’m going this route: https://www.civicx.com/threads/oem-homelink-install.4683/ as the entire unit only cost me $60 and I may be able to fit the entire housing, sunglasses storage included in my Touring sedan.
I’ll find out if there’s enough space after I pull out the original.

Thanks Boxstersteve, I’d like to see the pics when you are done. I chose this option because I wanted something quick and easy. I didn’t like having to reach for the garage door remote out of the center console every time. Good luck with yours.

I used a small chunk of Meguiars detailing clay to stick a garage remote under about where the wireless Qi charger is on the Touring trims.
