Hi All,

I'm asking the questions and starting the discussion with the TypeR in mind, but it is applicable to the 1.5T as well.

Being direct injected, surely there is a fuel flow limit. Are any of you guys hitting it yet? If so, what are you doing about it?

I'm assuming there is some excess capacity built in, but no idea how much.
I have a spare set of ID1000's in the event I need to supplement the DI with port injection but I don't know if the aftermarket/Hondata is going to go that way and support it, or if someone will increase the capacity of the direct injectors and go that route instead. I realize using the ID1000's would require either a new manifold or drilling holes into the stock manifold. First option won't be cheap and second option will require zip ties and ghetto-rigging.

What are guys with the other makes that have been doing DI for a while doing?

Vit- "Been doing DI for 5 or 6 years now, and this car has one of the higher pressure fuel systems out of the box compared to other platforms... other platforms that are doing much higher boost and power figures. Whatever boost pressure change the Si may receive (2psi more maybe?) is such a minor change compared to a factory 2600psi fuel system (a factory fuel system that will run 3000-3100psi reliably, tested and tried ;) )"

You might brake your trans tho lol
Hmm maybe. Back in the day (90's) the Honda transmission was the strong point. I mean sure the syncros would wear but the transmission could take 500hp with just a clutch upgrade.
I've never had a modern Honda MT fail but I have heard of it happening to others-

Manual will fail around 300hp. CVT at around 250hp. @VitViper is working on a clutch upgrade tho!

I miss stuff around here now and then, so Im just wondering where/who stated the 6MT can only handle 300hp? I know the clutch only holds about 250lb.ft or so, but didnt know the trans limit was even known yet.

maybe I'm wrong Matt, I know he stated he daily's his shop car at 270-280, and that he's pushed it up to 300trq and it was definitely slipping. so i was just assuming if he has it at 270-280 it must have recovered. but if he stated 250 trq than I missed that.
