I bought a preowned 2017 Type R with 5k miles on it. I noticed under heavy braking there was a loud popping sound. The dealer suggested it was an ABS issue, but during their inspection they found very small surface cracks on the front rotors. I searched through the forums here and came across a few threads of people having stress / surface cracks on their front rotors after track days. The dealership (Honda of Escondido) indicated that the brakes would serve just fine for many miles, but being that I’m extremely OCD, I contacted the dealer I bought the car from and they offered to pay for new pads / rotors.
With that being said, my car has just a tick over 6k miles on it now. I imagine these would be fine for anyone that autocrosses their car / tracks their car routinely.
Best offer takes them. Prefer local pickup. Located in north San Diego County.
