I bought a preowned 2017 Type R with 5k miles on it. I noticed under heavy braking there was a loud popping sound. The dealer suggested it was an ABS issue, but during their inspection they found very small surface cracks on the front rotors. I searched through the forums here and came across a few threads of people having stress / surface cracks on their front rotors after track days. The dealership (Honda of Escondido) indicated that the brakes would serve just fine for many miles, but being that I’m extremely OCD, I contacted the dealer I bought the car from and they offered to pay for new pads / rotors.

With that being said, my car has just a tick over 6k miles on it now. I imagine these would be fine for anyone that autocrosses their car / tracks their car routinely.

Best offer takes them. Prefer local pickup. Located in north San Diego County.

Bump for your super nice looking garage floor!

Off topic but you ever go to any meets around San Diego? I've been hoping to find some more Hondas around here

thanks!

I don’t really go to any meets, but that’s really because I work weekends when most meets occur. I used to try to go to cars and coffee back when it was decent in Carlsbad. Let me know if you hear of any Type R gatherings though. I’d be interested in meeting other owners!

Looks like the P/O tracked their car, or drove really hard on the street :) Thats not normal break usage haha. Rotors seem to be near EOL. I'd take the pads if you could ship! GLWS.

I can ship the pads! Just make an offer. I can send you better pics if you’d like also.
