Looking for feedback:
Is my price too high, or is it just a challenge to sell a car like this with it being almost new and in my location?
Thanks

I think it’s a culmination of things. The price seems reasonable there’s another used si same as yours selling for 22,000 with twice the miles in Texas. Also, you’re selling on a forum dedicated to Civics. I would figure most people don’t come here to look for cars, they come here because they already have the car. Just my thoughts. Good luck with selling!

Good point - Maybe a few civic owners can pass the information along to people who they are trying to convince to be civic owners. :) I'm glad to hear that the price I am asking seems fair.

I think the price is on the high side. We picked up my son's Si sedan for less than that new.

Did that price include dealer fees, doc fees, or any other fees (not TTL)? If so, you got a great deal.
In Illinois for a new vehicle purchase at a dealer you would pay around $1,600 in taxes, but buying a 2018 from a private party would only be $390.

The doc fee was $250 and the license fee was $33.50, so an additional $283.50 onto the price. Negotiated price on the car was $21,875, and then an additional $500 was taken off for a military discount. Tax is not included in that price.

The SI sedan is worth more than 15k, you could probably get away with the 15k-19,999 bracket. It would be more than $750.

Whoops, you are correct kpun, I didn't read far enough down the form to see that. So, you could get away with $750 tax buying from an individual, compared to about $1,600 tax if buying from dealership. Thanks.

I paid $22,300 for an 18 Si in January.

You need to be around $20k to move it... try Carmax

Even in SoCal where sales tax just turned 10.2%, used Si’s are around 20.5 to 21.5k. I’d go on Autotraders, cars.com, CarGurus and compare prices around your area and re-price accordingly. Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I dropped the price to $21,500. It is crazy how KBB private party value shows so much higher. I think part of my problem also is that I am in Central Illinois, and I don't think there are that many people looking for an Si in this area. Hopefully someone wants a deal on a Si around where I am!
