Front plate bracket delete

my dealer had to locate my 17 black si sedan, and the only one available was already pdi’d Which meant the front plate bracket had already been drilled into the front bumper.

Do they make bumper plug kits so when I remove the bracket there arent 2 wide open holes in the front plastic? I know I’m saving weight with less material ( that’s sarcasm) but I’d like to keep it looking super clean.

I think it’s a federal law but don’t quote me on that.
I’m from California the land of the laws lol. My car came like that and so did the other civic si guys I see around town. I’m driving around with the holes I haven’t done anything about it yet doesn’t bother me much I hardly notice it. My guess is I think you fill it with a filler, sand that small area down and use a match paint for your car. They sale it at the dealership.

They do make bumper plugs. There are a variety of options. For example.

These ones you can paint with some touch up paint, and they would look moderately good.

I bought my car in CA but it didn't have the plate bracket installed. They had me sign a form saying I would add it.

Looking for a plate relocater just in case I get pulled over. Don't want to have to drill the bumper.

§ 402. Distinctive number; form of number plates; trailers. 1. (a) No
person shall operate, drive or park a motor vehicle on the public
highways of this state unless such vehicle shall have a distinctive
number assigned to it by the commissioner and a set of number plates
issued by the commissioner with a number and other identification matter
if any, corresponding to that of the certificate of registration
conspicuously displayed, one on the front and one on the rear of such
vehicle, each securely fastened so as to prevent the same from swinging
and placed, whenever reasonably possible, not higher than forty-eight
inches and not lower than twelve inches from the ground; provided,
however, that in any registration year for which only one number plate
is issued, such number plate shall constitute a set of number plates for
the time in which such use is authorized, shall be displayed on the rear
of the vehicle and none shall be displayed on its front, except in case
of a tractor, when such number plate shall be displayed on the front of
the vehicle and none shall be displayed on its rear.

Yeah I get that the law states it needs to be on the bumper, my question wasn’t what section of the VTL tells me this, my question was if there were any kits out there that are designed to plug those ugly holes.

I guess the eBay ones will work. I thought op was talking about an oem part. I remember back in the days the integra and civic have oem plugs if people wanted to plug em.

No these were from bumper plugs.com or something like that...

$30 though... and you have to drill the hole bigger to use these plugs. I think it was worth it though.

I just took it off and left the holes. Looks way better and if i get pulled over i can always slap it on and take care of the ticket.
