Got my front plate mounted yesterday, end up buying a plastic mount and some home depot's nut n bolts. Pretty happy with the result.

I think this is the best match for what I was looking for , Where did you get it from?

So check this out found a company online that makes a vinyl copy of your license plate that you can stick on the bumper. I saw this on an RS a few years ago and wondered how it was done. I’m going to measure the middle section of the bumper and see if they can make a plate in a smaller rectangle to fit on the bumper over my PPF

I found it at Canadian Tires. I bought it a while back I think it was 8.99 Canadian.

You will still get a ticket. Or at least is the case in Vancouver BC. Lot of super car used to do it around here. They stopped as the police still give out ticket. The law is you have to show the physical front license plate in the front end of the vehicle. It can't not be modified or copy.

Holes were drilled in my bumper and I honestly couldn’t care less. They were nicely drilled and I can mount my license plate in the right place. Then I bought Championship White bumper plugs if I ever need to close them shut, there were dimples for the plates in the bumper anyway.

That’s not to say that I don’t understand where you’re coming from. I think I would’ve appreciated them not drilling the bumper, but they just didn’t know better and received my message too late. But given the lack of a reasonable place to install it, the fact that there are dimples already, I would’ve probably drilled myself.

I definitely don’t like the license plate off to the side, that’s just my preference. Honda (or some company) should’ve developed a bracket that goes where the drilled one currently goes, but with brackets that screw in other places above and below the painted area. Something creative. That would’ve been a good solution.

It’s probably not hard to make your own with a good fabricator. In fact, given the option of no bumper holes, now that I think of it, the fabricator approach would’ve been the one I would probably end up taking.

After reading all these replies and bracket ideas I think best cleanest option IF a plate is a must is the 3d printed one. Not really feeling the offset plates. I really don't think enough air is being blocked by it that it would cause concern... and if it were on a track, you could always take the plates off. Considering some of these brackets are > $50, $30 isn't so bad.

Spent a few minutes drawing something up the day I picked up the R since I didn't want to go through shapeways and needed something quick.

Back piece slides though the front grill, and has holes for a zip tie to slide and hole so it doesn't fall and become lost.

Back plate from amazon or Canadian tire less then 10$, spaced holes according to specs, but the plate was off by about half a cm; nothing a drill and clippers couldn't fix.

I'll put up the file if anyone wants it.

Ugly as hell but at least I’m legal & no drilled bumper. I don’t want to give Johnny any reason to pull me over.
It’s about 4” out from lower grill with no engine temp changes noticed. I may remove the spacer to bring it closer to grill. It’s also a tad flimsy because the plastic mesh grill is the only thing it’s mounted to. It also tilts forward a hair which is odd but like I said...I’m legal.
Thanks @slybrackets
