initial testing results of the new sirimoto e85 flex fuel kit with hondata's latest e85 flex fuel tune on our partner's stock fk8 car. impressive 450 lbs-ft of torque and 400+ hp at crank.

we also beta test installing the display gauge in the engine compartment with a custom holder for waterproofing and ease of maintenance. we'll have a full detailed installation and review coming for our fbo modded champ white fk8.

I'd actually like to see this fitted to the inside of the Fuel Lid.
Can you see Ethanol Content in Accessory mode?

My guess is the engine needs to be running and fuel flowing through the sensor for it to read.

mmmm yes, of course since the sensor is located right before injectors. Good call. Wishful thinking.

not sure what you mean by "accessory mode". the sensor for the ethanol % is read off the oem ect2 sensor which no longer is used for monitoring ect2 (under radiator for oem diagnostic).

ect2 sensor becomes the ethanol % sensor to send signal to obd2 port which then sends to hondata app or any display app that can show ethanol %.

hey ctrmofo! nice writeup and testing! (i'm quite interested in this tech; seems perfect for our cars). quick question for you -- any reason not to mount the E gauge in the glove box (I like the idea of it being hidden and stealthy but not the idea of having to open the hood every time I wanted to see what blend of Exx I had in the tank.). I'm assuming it's just a small bundle of wires that run from the sensor to that round gauge readout?
can mount gauge anywhere you want. some (like me) don't like blinking lights etc. taking up space on dash. given there's a harness to pull through the firewall (behind the battery), it's easier to just tap into the main fuse box in the engine bay and have no wires going through firewall at all and use the app to display instead of physical display sitting on dash or glovebox etc. - no wires and harness to pull through that's all.

installing gauge in engine bay needs something to keep the gauge clean, not wet, etc. a simple waterproof housing was the idea and worked wonderfully. now just matter of securing the housing down nicely so it doesn't flop around in that corner. housing is white so it will be painted black to blend in and look oem ;-)

It takes about 1 mile for the fuel to mix and flow through the fuel line to get an accurate ethanol reading.

We also mounted the content gauge under the hood and use the dash app to view the content.

Yeah honestly sounds like the best plan moving forward. Dash app for convenience and manual gauge under hood if you need to troubleshoot.

Anyone mind sharing a good +12V accessory switched lead would be for the Innovative gauge included in the SiriMoto kit? Everything I'm metering seems to be +12V constant, which I'd rather not use if I don't have to. Hoping to use the fuse box under the hood as I'm keeping the gauge there, instead of in the cabin.

I just did a Dragy run on mine after filling up with E85, flashed the off the shelf flex fuel w/ DP tune, and modded it like my other tunes.

30-70 times decreased by 10% from 3.89 to 3.52 seconds
50-80 times decreased by almost 20% from 3.67 to 2.91 seconds

Car feels great.

Low Fuel light came on literally as I hit the gas pump. Added 5.002 gallons of E85, 5.5 gallons of 93, and I think there was 1-1.5 gallons of 93 still in the tank #nailedit

Did you try testing the 15Amp #6 washer fuse in the engine compartment?

I didn't - I was sticking to the 10A ones where possible. I ended up routing the power wire inside the cabin and used SiriMoto's recommended fuse location, B21.

I'm worried too. 450 ft lb and 400+ hp sounds amazing but good god how long will the engine and transmission last?! He said those power readings were on an otherwise stock fk8?!
