I can't even say for sure that's a knocking rod because your iPhone phucking blows. :) Make a longer video, because all I can tell you thus far is, the "knock" sounds high up in the engine from that short clip. It doesn't sound like a rod bearing. It sounds like a misfire.
I have never heard a “misfire” sounding like such.

The car is hopefully going into a shop next week so I can assess the damage, probably going to build the internals while the engine is out anyway . But I will definitely keep everyone updated

As I pointed out, the video sample isn't good enough or long enough to determine anything.

i find it very hard to believe a misfire can sound like that no matter how bad the audio quality is lol.

not gonna lie this thread has me scared to even lightly touch the antilag now lmao
I absolutely would suggest not using it. It has blown up more cars than helped them. Shouldnt even be a provided option in my opinion.

It could be on but if you don't activate it with the cruise control it wont build up that boost

that is a BAD rod knock; in fact might even be a spun bearing. i would NOT run that motor again til you have the engine apart and have inspected the crank/bearings/rods. shes hurt super SUPER bad. (I run a road race EG K24/20 EFR 7163 car in hillclimbs and time attacks). i've heard sounds like that before. not NOT good lol. at any time the next thing that can/will happen is the rod will break and punch a hole in the block on the way out and destroy the entire shortblock (and possibly the head). been there done that. don't start it at all don't run it at all til you have it torn down man

Things happen when engines are pushed harder than designed; even in a stock condition.

Rod Knock can occur from a lot of things other than oil lol. For example an aggressive tune from hondata. hondata in general for these cars.
blaming hondata makes no sense imo...sounds like a bad tune imo...but we don't know everything based off what we're given in this post.

I've had both ktuner and now hondata...no issues, 35k miles. I asked for a mild tune though, only 350whp...no need for more than that imo
