Hi!

im a new member here, been browsing for a while though.
I was wondering if i would get any rubbing with the Eibach Pro Kit lowering springs.
Does any1 have any ecperience with these on the FK8?
I had Eibach springs on my Del Sol back in the day and was super happy with their performance.

Wheel setup is Work Emotion M8R 18x9,5 +38 wrapped with Toyo R888R 265 35.

The reason id go for the Eibach is because i can get them with the correct paperwork so i can legally lower my FK8, I'm from Belgium, our laws are way too uptight when it comes to car modifications

you'll rub...even if you tried spoon, you'd rub. You need to be at least 45 offset to avoid it. I had that same tire setup when I ran a 18x9.5 on 45 offset and was fine, but once I switched to 35 offset, I started to rub. Sure you'll have 3mm less to worry about with a 38 offset, but I'm sure you'll still rub

I have no problems but im on stock rims and tires. I hear from other members that have a similar setup rub only on hard dips.

Are we talking about really hard rubbing even on slight turns or just slightly and under hard cornering?
I just checked again, i have a 4cm gap from my inner wheel arch to my tire which would drop to a 3cm gap with the Eibach springs (sorry im on those EU measurements lol). They dont seem to give a massive drop like some of the others ive seen here.

The rubbing occurs in the rear on hard dips

makes some sense, the plastic rim on the top of the rear inner arch is a bit wider and flat. In the front the plastic rim is only a couple of mm wide and moves upwards. Might hold out a while longer untill i get a few more answers.

your also running R888R which runs wider than your average 265
yes thats also true, the tire is slightly wider than my rim itself. Its something i noticed on my Del Sol back in the day too. It had the normal R888 on it and had to roll my wheel wells to make them fit without rubbing when i was on track.

so yeah, you'll rub on dips, bumps and turns...especially when people are in the back.

Then the front you hit that metal tab on other certain deep dips/bumps. I got annoyed, it was constant, lots of dips, etc in my roads

My setup (pic attached):
  1. Eibach Sportline
  2. SPC Rear Camber Arms
  3. Rays Volk Racing CE28N OG Bronze 18x9.5 +42
  4. Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 265/35/18

After one day of commuting with them, here are my findings:
  • No rubbing so far and haven't bottomed out anywhere either
  • Even in +R mode, ride quality is better and quieter than my previous setup (stock suspension + conti all seasons) - could be the tires though
  • A lot less body roll
  • Better acceleration / launch since less pitching
  • Lots more grip (before would spin in 2nd easily with Ktuner Stage 1 and conti all seasons)
  • No squeaks
  • Very compliant
  • I did notice my exhaust is a bit louder and more vibrations in the cabin
  • I don't really notice any torque steer but will confirm after alignment is done
  • Still need to get alignment done so it is tracking a bit weird at highway speeds (pulls left when on throttle, pulls right when off throttle).

FYI - EU prokit (E10-40-036-06-22) is different than US (E10-40-036-03-22).

EU lowers 15mm/10mm whereas US lowers 0.6 inch/0.7 inch.

I’m putting the EU prokit on my FK8 next week, will report back.

So the drop won't be as low as the US specs...interesting how the rear is a tad less than US spec...actually sounds better imo

ty! Curious to see and hear what the result is.
Went to Nurburgring this weekend for my very first drive there. Was surprised at the amount of dips in the track, but no rubbing on OEM height with the wheels and tire combo.

Finally got around to installing Swift springs. Install wasn’t that difficult and definitely helps if 2 people are working on it. Car is sitting nicely and ride is Smooth as long as roads are good I’m assuming. I didn’t cut the bumpstops as some people said to do. Swift said don’t cut them because the spring was designed to be used with bumpstop, but you can cut them to suit your driving needs. I don’t daily the car so that was another reason I’ve decided to go ahead and install them. One thing I immediately noticed was the extra vibration I feel in the pedal at idle. I don’t know if this is from the front pipe adjustment so now I’m probably feeling more of vibration or what. Funny thing is the car feels as if it sits as low to my buddy’s Lexus F and he’s on stock suspension.

Anyone with H&R springs? Had them on my Evo X and liked it a lot. I'm leaning toward Spoon right now, but it's over $500 :dunno::eek:
