I have a question for those in the know of OBD Type2 scanners, which of the two scanners do you recommend for someone who knows nothing about cars, doesnt want to know anything about cars but would be interested in knowing what is wrong with there car so that they are not at the mercy of an auto mechanic.

Is the OBD Type 2 FIXD a good investment or the Bluedriver scanner recommended and why wwould you recommend one over the other? Basically the scanner is for my mother who can use the device and then call Ford (if in Florida) or Mercedes (if in PA).

Thanks a ton for your insight.

Bluedriver is great and have good reviews. I used to have blue driver and got it for around $100. I don't know much about Fixd.

Can blue driver only detect engine codes or also body and chassis codes, such as a bad wheel speed sensor?
