Friend of mine lives in HI and wants to look for fair price on 202-0 hatch EX-L. I know price is HI is a bit higher but how much?

I am kinda poking about to see how much people in HI pays for 2029 hatch EX-L (MSRP $25,350) or similar.

TIA ( Thanks in Advance )

I am in NJ, and I bought a 2020 Hatch Sport Touring at $27,900+Tax (~$32K after tax). I tried to push them down further, but just below the official Honda MSRP ($28,050) was where the agreement finally settled.

Edit: I should also add that their starting price (pre-tax) was listed at $29,780.

Actually, now that you bring it up, I think I put dealer fees and options in that +tax.

$27,900+7% NJ Sales tax would be $29,853. In NJ it costs $95 to register and put plates on a new car (so now ~$29,950). I know the dealer had a document fee and some form of car prep fee that probably all amounted to between $500 and $1000 (total now between $30,450 and $30,950), and I got the wireless charger, rubber floor mats, and bumper guard (All together around $500). So the total cost looked to be somewhere around $31,500. Rounded up: ~$32,000. That was a very expensive day. Fuck.

    For HI:
Tax is quite low actually around 4.5%.
But from what I heard, no one is paying MSRP, they pay HIGHER. Dealers have another number called 'retail price' and always higher than MSRP. I asked one dealer on 2020 hatch EX-L and told him that I don't negotiate the price. If the price is good, we have a deal. He came back:

    Retail Price: 28676
    Savig: 2787
    Sell Price: 25980
    Tax: 1235
    Fee: blah blah blah
    OTD: 27800

    Noted that MSRP is 25350.

I have no idea if this is a good price or not, thus asking around in this forum.

I got mine for invoice + tax/tags in NJ on the last day of last month. Seems there were a few local dealers trying to hit numbers...one actually gave me a price decently below invoice but then started slapping >$1000 fees on top of it so I ended up going with a dealer I trusted more to not pull some random crap once I was finalizing things.

Also, for most places I've seen the MSRP on a Hatch EX-L is $26,280 w/destination charge (at least, in the US/to NJ). The invoice is $24,474, including that charge. (http://www.carquotes.com/new-prices/honda/civic-hatchback/2020/ex-l-cvt) I think it's $930, from the research I did.

I have a Honda Dealer directly across Costco in Waipio By Gentry, however it will only deal base on MSRP.
I bought my 18 Hatch using the Costco Car Buying Program. Driving to the opposite side of the island instead of only 15 minutes away from my house, but the only Honda Dealer on the Island of Oahu in this program was Windward Honda.
It was essentially $500 over invoice under the Costco Program without haggling. In fact it was all done over the phone and following week with a check for the total sum when I picked up the Hatch. Dealer also gave voucher for a nice 1 time discount on parts. So I picked up a set of floor mats.
Things might have changed since my purchase was in '18.
    HTHs.
