I see a lot of guys buying some LED depo lights.. idk who depo is, but I decided to stick with OEM since that’s available. Thought I’d share this to help out the guys that are having problems with the side markers. Whether it’s getting the right part or installing it. Providing some pics and if you guys still have questions, let me know.
The part number. They cost me ~$150. They can be had for more or less.
Literally all the tools you need. You don’t really need the small flat head if you have small enough hands.
No grinding or trimming needed. You do have to use the socket that came on our car. The one supplied with the side markers will not fit.
I didn’t even take pics of the removal of the side marker because it was really straight forward. Remove the 3 screws holding the fender liner in place and separate it a bit with your fingers. Use the bigger flat head to reach in and pop the tab out on the back of the light fixture. That releases the light from the fender. Small hand people, reach between the liner and fender and disconnect the socket. Otherwise use the small flat head to pry it off.
I saw a lot of people complain about the length of the harness. Yes, it’s short. Wasn’t a problem though. I placed the lens in place. Note the hole towards the front. That is your first insertion point. Then the rear tab snaps into place. I didn’t fight with the harness. I knew it was short. I just reached in from behind and reconnected it once I had the light in place.
Reassemble everything. (Literally put 3 screws back in place).
Sorry they weren’t the exact same angle.
Much better..
