Any companies planning on releasing a downpipe with a high flow cat? Not sure I want to go the decat route since if I get an exhaust it will more than likely make everything louder than I want.

Only current one I currently see if the Millek

I’m in a similar boat. I move a bunch and likely won’t always be in a state that doesn’t require emissions.

As far as I know currently you have Milltek, aFe, and one from Ultimate Racing. I think 27won and Dream Automotive are working on one but that’s it. I wouldn’t be surprised to see catted options coming from Greddy and HKS in the future.

I don't think Catted downpipes will help much if smog is required, since it'll fail visual (assuming the downpipe has no CARB sticker).

You’re right. Just don’t want the extra fumes although I heard it’s not too bad without a cat. Plus for what I’ve read I don’t think turbo cars need it. Still waiting for PRL To release theirs.

Not everything is about Cali.... I will actually give up assignments if anyone ever tries to send me to that hell hole.

But... we know how to party... apparently.

I had a high flow cat on my last turbo car and the rear bumper still got dirty, just no fireballs and fumes. There wasn't really a smog-related benefit for having it. Just wanted to point that out for anyone considering these.

Work in progress. You can check out our blog for the current 1.5L. The CTR will take lots of the same design cues just larger of course.

Even though the testing was done on the 1.5t, can you note the sound differences between the cat and catless?

As stated in my original post I am interested in a cat version to help keep the exhaust quiet especially since I want to put an aftermarket exhaust on. Don't want to get an aftermarket exhaust just to have to get it chopped up to add an additional resonator.

The catted was a few DB quieter but not by much. That being said we found we can control most of the sound with the full exhaust itself. Our CTR exhaust will more than likely use a similar concept in design with our side branch resonators and strategically placed mid-pipe resonators.

I have the Milltek catted downpipe. You can use the stock exhaust, but an aftermarket exhaust is highly recommended.

Pretty much the same boat here.

I wanted to swap a larger catted dp and fp and keep the stock exhaust, but not so sure if there’re power gains.... it’s rather expensive for a set of dp+fp.

Uh I wanna ask some one who runs aftermarket dp+fp with stock exhaust but seems no body does that.....
We have tested this set-up. It his louder but not by much if catted DP. If catless these engines start to make some odd noises lol.
