Hi.
I thought I would try to do a how-to on getting my power fold mirrors to work. At first, this post/thread is going to be a bit of a photo dump, but I'll clean it up a bit as I go. I'll be posting from a laptop and from a phone so the formatting can be funny.
Do I have to say this -? This is a guide. You should be competent in wiring and basic mechanical fasteners. I can't be held responsible for your damage, fire, etc etc.
I'm doing this into a 2017 Civic Type R which, as you know, is a hatchback. I do not yet know if the sedan and coupe side mirrors are the same, but the switching and wiring should be similar/same.
So, to start, Here is what you need.
Power Fold mirror switch - Part number 35190-T7A-J11 ('should' be the same in coupe or sedan also)
Driver side power mirror assembly - 76258-TGL-G12
-This part number includes blind spot indicator as well as an integrated turn signal!
Passenger side power mirror assembly -
Caps for side mirror-
-Up to you if you want to have paint-matching or if you'd prefer some other color. The ones on your car currently may or may not fit - haven't confirmed yet...but I don't know if there is a sure, clean way to pop them off without damaging something.
Wire- 2 or more colors would be good. Probably need 20' of each. It looks to be about 18ga, but I haven't measured yet. Will update-
Pins - Just like doing power-fold mirrors in any previous generation Civic/etc, you need to add some pins to connectors. You need to add 2 pins to the switch connector and 'several' pins to the side mirror connectors. The connectors appear to be the same, just with slightly different pin arrangements. Will confirm.
***The old setups had separate relays. This appears to have the relay built-in to the switch, so that's a bonus***
You should have some free time, lighting, dry (climate controlled?) area in which to work.
You need some #1 and #2 screw drivers, an assortment of flat-head screw drivers, and, ideally, something to help cleanly separate trim pieces.
