Do you live in a congested city or a town with little traffic? This is the deal breaker of a manual. If you get stuck in traffic jams a lot then a auto is the way to go. But if you live in a town that doesn’t have much traffic then a manual will be more fun IMO. I love my manual, but when we go to Houston we take my girlfriends auto most of the time. Their traffic sucks! Lol

For I was car shopping, my intention was to buy the Touring. I test-drove the Touring twice and Hatchback-CVT once. I felt the car slow to engage. I floored the gas pedal and the car would not accelerate like the other cars. At the time, I did not know anything about CVT. I did some research and found out that this was a typical characteristic of CVT.

I then tried the SI and loved the car. Bottom line is I myself would not buy the Civic if not the manual transmission.

Aliens laugh at CVT's. They fear manuals.
Most aliens drive automatics. I saw a poll taken over at aliens.com and the results were overwhelming.

For this specific scenario... manual. Less chance of your car being stolen by an alien in the process since it's unlikely the manuals have survived in the era of interplanetary space travel. Though a manual flying saucer would be tits.

With all the stray magnetic fields and RFI; I think our cars would just stop, turn off, engage parking brake, and lock us inside (with no air conditioning).

I would if the magnetic fields would make our air conditioning work?

I know some one who had to sell their manual trans car because their knee or leg could no longer deal with the clutch.
