I think every transmission thread on every auto forum eventually becomes this. It's a shame but it happens. Once they start puffing out their chests and showing off their machismo they've already shown how little their views on the subject actually matter.

Professional or acceptable? I let you in on a secret; I am not here for neither of those. I am here for information and entertainment. There is plenty of both.
On the other hand....the title of the tread is "CVT longevity", why do I need to know if someone favors a manual trans and how good it is for him/her...or a naturally aspired engine. That was the reason for my "I am annoyed with your posting" post.

Lol it was just a joke. If anyone started having an actual argument about it I'd tell them that too.

Ah Nissan. The company most people don't know anything about, and those who have the misfortune of actually knowing first-hand will avoid at all costs. Most people know them as "that other Japanese company, like Honda and Toyota!" and automatically put them in the same "this must be just as reliable" category. Nissan is to Japanese cars what Ford and Chevy are to American cars, i.e. they all might as well be made in China.

Scotty's only truth is following the pass that most traveled. For me, all he has to offer is useless drivel.

Anyone with a modicum of experience with car maintenance would say the same. But we and him both know your average driver is ignorant as hell, which is what he markets to, and is quite beneficial to. I watch him for entertainment, not education. Usually.
