See that, guys? Tell all the ADM dealers to EFF off. There ARE people in the world who don't want you to grab your ankles and drive while in that position. Stand your ground and buy for MSRP out of state.

It’s taken awhile but the dealership gouging has begun to subside considerably.

Im in Northern California between SF and Sacramento. There are 17 Type-Rs in a 50 mile radius. I can easily get one at MSRP, but I'm stuck trying to decide if i want to spend an extra $15k over an Si. If the CTR was AWD i would have bought it already. Coming from a 2015 stage 2ish wrx im concerned about giving up the awd.

I have $15k to put down from the positive equity in the wrx. That that leaves me with a $10k [email protected] 3 years/$290 for an Si, or $25k @ 6 years/$380 or 5yrs/$450 for the CTR. I can easily afford the CTR, just trying to see if the value is there and if its worth the extra money. Also, my last loan for the wrx was [email protected]$450 ($25,000 financed with $10k down). 6 years is a long time to pay, let me tell you.

Tax is about $4500 on the CTR. Thats over $4k just to get rid of my old car. I cant believe California sells any cars. If it wasn't so high i would have bought the car also. I'm a little worried that if i hate the fwd and want to sell it in a couple years the equity plus tax is going to be a huge waste of money. Ughhh decisions, decisions. Right now i only see 4 used CTRs within a 200 mile radius and 35 Si (2017+). But with so many more new CTRs available now, i wonder how many used ones will be listed a few years from now.

Folsom Honda has a mark up of 10k on a CTR but looks like they are budging. They called me yesterday and told me that they are willing to reduce the price. ADM was 2k and protection plan was 1500. The seller did not sound confident because of what I told him the last time he reached out. Someone out in that area may be able to get it at MSRP. I think the guy's name was Conneway. Good luck!

Im worried I won't keep it long enough to not lose a bunch of money...Not worried about the depreciation, just California's $4500 in tax. Add that to the depreciation and it becomes very costly to swutch cars every 4 years (especially at $40k per car) just got done paying off my wrx after 5 years (2015) so im not really excited about paying another half a decade for a vehicle lol but i am bored of the Subi. Been great though, stage 2ish 300hp/300tq with 46k miles on the clock. Bad battery the only thing ive replaced. I talked to Folsom too awhile back and they offered the same. It's still sitting there im sure theyd do msrp if you brought in a loan ahead of time

Waldorf Honda has a blue 19' Type R on the showroom floor, it was sitting next to my white Type R when I bought it. I paid straight MSRP with no additional charges added on. Great sales staff at this dealership. Mike Council was the sales manager and Saeed Satterwhite was my salesman. Tell them Hermann sent you!

That's good to know. When I was shopping for my Type R 18 months ago, Waldorf Honda was on the naughty list, in a big way. They had a white one listed online at MSRP, and I called and spoke to a salesman who confirmed that they were selling at MSRP. Then, while I was driving to the bank to pick up a check to drive out there and buy it, they called back and said $10k ADM, basically $50k out the door. The sales manager, Mike, got in a big argument with my wife on the phone, claimed the MSRP offer was a mistake and said we were trying to take advantage of them because nobody could reasonably expect to buy a CTR at MSRP. He was an asshole.

King’s Honda Cincinnati. They list it $3K over, but I talked them down to sticker. Good dealer.

Wow! It looks like things have changed since your bad experience. Sorry you had to deal with that......I would have lost my shit dealing with that! Mike Council actually went out of his way to make my dealings with them the best car buying experience I've ever had!
